I am no longer going to be maintaining this blog.
My server was hacked two weeks ago by a Saudi Arabian hacker sympathetic to the plight of the Lebanese people. At first my reaction was one of dread at the work ahead of me to rebuild the server, but after reading the page again and again I began to wonder…
While I’ve been offline over the past two weeks I’ve been studying Islam and reading the Koran, and I’ve decided to convert. Hacking someone’s site is so the best way to convince them of your point of view. In the tradition of Aussies who convert to Islam I’ve selected “Jihad” as my Islamic name, so I’ll known as “Jihad Josh”…..
But seriously, the real reason that I’m no longer going to be maintaining this blog is that Krishna-kirti has stopped maintaining his, and since I was only ever a plant of the liberal left to counter-act his presentation, the razon d’etre of this site has disappeared…
But really, seriously, the real reason that I am no longer going to be maintaining this site is that I have finished this chapter of my life.
Time for the next one…

That’s sad to hear. I like your site and will miss it
dittos raivata’s comment.

I really like your web site. You gave lot of info. about world ISCKON. Specially I like Isckon news net. I saw what hackers did. I was very horrified first not understanding wht happen to the site But after 2 days it sunk into me that some jihadi has hacked it. Please think again whether you want to take defeat against a Islamic terrorist who is terroring people of the WORLD
Thanks for sharing your thoughts so far. I thik your final comment should tell us about your next chapter in your life - I’m left wondering if the Islam comment was serious?
Doubt it, but something has changed.
Anyway; enjoy!
Please clarify — are you refering to urbanmissionary or ISKCONnews.net or both? I am addicted to IN.net, if you are dropping that, is someone else taking it up? Must have my fix.
I feel a deep sadness to see the KC sites around the world going down. It’s a pity as I think we can make KC stronger on the net.
Thanks for all your work. Please do visit mine when you have time - i will also email you with an idea I have in mind:
PS You were always to me the Godfather of KC on the Internet! Thank you for everything!
Hare Krsna!
I like your site very much and I wouldn’t like to see it down. Is it possible to go on?
All the best!
Nityananda-kari devi dasi
Sorry to see you go. Thank you for inspiring me and so many people in Krishna conscious blogging.
(hey, just because one blog is gone doesn’t mean that you can’t start another. How about an Atma Yoga blog, similar to the terrible (but ridiculously popular) http://www.yogamazing.com )
I hope your new life episode will be as fruitful as the last one. Hare Krishna.
Your servant,
Candidasa das
Sita-pati Prabhu, please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Well, however much I agree or disagree with you, your sites have unquestionably been one of the bastions of KC online culture. From my perspective, I’ve long regarded the articles you publish to your site as representative of patterns of thinking that I think much ISKCON’s leadership possesses and wants to cultivate more of.
A corrollary of this is that it likely means that in the near to mid future, you’re probably going to climb into the ranks of ISKCON’s management. I do think you will become a rather important person within ISKCON. Maybe this is the next chapter for you, or perhaps that will come in a chapter or two after that.
Since you mentioned it, although siddhanta.com (Hare Krishna Cultural Journal) is suspended indefinitely, but it will be making a Gandalf-like return. At least that is my present intention. It’s just that at present, I’ve hit a “glass ceiling” that I have to break through in order to bring the writing on it to a level I feel would be most suitable to its purposes. To accomplish that will require an extended “sabatical” on my part.
Best of luck, and please keep in touch. And don’t let the terrorists win the next one.
