ISKCON News.Net is starting to fill up with content. I’ve recently added Krishna Kirti’s Hare Krishna Cultural Journal to the feed.
My editorial policy on that site up to this point has been to only add in feeds of people who talk about what they do as well as what they think, in order to have some accountability of authors. I’ve added Krishna Kirti even though he doesn’t do that. Why? Because it’s time to take the site to the next level.
Now that the rate of addition of new content is getting so high, it’s time to start creating different sections. I wanted to have people who posted about what they do in addition to what they think in order to give context to their writing. Now we are going to create context through the creation of sections. If anyone would like to be involved in the graphical design or editing of ISKCON News.Net, then please drop me a line or leave a comment.

OK, Sita-pati-ji. We know you pulled the plug on HKCJ’s newsfeed, and we have a pretty good idea as to why you did it. But why Sita-pati why? Since you are a long-time-reader of HKCJ and know that articles like this are standard fare for HKCJ, what on Bhu-mandala possessed you put HKCJ’s newsfeed up on ISKCONNEWS.NET in the firstplace?
Dear Krishna-kirti prabhu,
I’ll be adding it back in as soon as I get the layout sorted out.
The mission of ISKCON News.Net is to generate momentum in fulfilling the objectives of ISKCON through information sharing.
My rule of thumb editorial policy has been that authors are posted if they are transparent about what they do as much as what they think. The idea is to inspire people by sharing information about initiatives to move things forward.
I added your feed in because you publish interesting and thought provoking articles. However, you don’t publish information about what you are doing, so your site hasn’t fitted into the editorial policy that I’ve been using up to this point.
I’m going to expand the site in order to broaden the content, as I mentioned in the post on my blog, and I’ll put your feed back in as soon as I’m able to do that. I added your feed in thinking that I was going to be able to do it immediately, but then this whole Atma Yoga thing came up.
As I’ve said before, and I’ll say it again - I don’t agree with everything that you say, but I’m ready to defend your right to say it. Yours is not *the* voice of ISKCON, but it is a voice of ISKCON, and so I think that it has its place on ISKCON News.Net.
your servant,
Sita-pati das
