Prayer is nice, but to whom (or Whom) do they pray, and why? It reminds me of a discussion in e-mail I had with a Christian a few weeks ago, where she obnoxiously insisted that I follow “vain philosophy of man (our guru parampara) and worship a false, dead god (Krishna).”
It seems that in Europe they don’t pray as much as in the U.S., but they seem to more readily accept Krishna. It seems to me that Krishna’s statement in Bhagavad-gita 9:23 is quite relevant, “Those who are devotees of other gods and who worship them with faith actually worship only Me, O son of Kuntī, but they do so in a wrong way.” It seems to me that worship of Jesus as “God” while rejecting Krishna is in this category.
